Morality From The Bible
God in the bible says that he's unchanging, that he's eternal, he's the same yesterday today and tomorrow. So if something was morally correct in the old testament for example to stone your unruly children, then that would be morally correct forever. The same is true for slavery, punishing homosexuals, marrying the woman you raped, not eating shellfish, etc. And when Jesus in the new testament talks about it he says that not a jot or tittle will be changed until all has come to pass, despite the fact he personally violates a number of old testament laws. I'm sure you believe that the ten commandments are binding do you not? because that's in the old testament, you should look it up! You cannot pick and choose from the old testament to say what you wanna keep and what you wanna throw away.
You Christians are rationalizing this, you are spinning this to say what you want it to say, that how beautiful it was that Jesus through his life death and resurrection saved us all. You're ignoring what it tell us, that your God is not always benevolent, that in the past he was angry, petty, jealous and vengeful. That's not omni benevolence, what it tells us is that he created this system knowing ahead of time what was going to happen, specifically created us knowing that people would sin and fall away, and he thinks that its just to punish one person for the sins of another. That the sins of the father should carry out to the sins of the son. That we are all responsible for original sin, those are all immoral principles. Then what he does is he comes out and says "Hmm, I've created this situation were I turned every one into sinners." So he sacrifices himself to himself to act as a loophole for a rule that he made himself, instead of just forgiving. Its an absolutely absurd and obscene and immoral philosophy. You cant just say "oh that was old testament and now were on to the new." And by the way there are problems with the new testament as well. You can say all day that Jesus came out of love, but your ignoring the ideas of original sin, your ignoring about the unchanging God, your ignoring the moral code Jesus himself said supposedly wouldn't change. And your doing it all so you can believe what you want to believe. You cant just focus on the positive bits such as turn the other cheek but not the eye for an eye. You are picking and choosing, and you can make the bible by picking and choosing say what it is you want it to say.
